Mike Brozick (Trumpet):
Mike Brozick is a member of the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra, Elgin Symphony Orchestra, and principal trumpet of the Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra. He has performed regularly with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and Grant Park Orchestra. Mr. Brozick has recorded Gustav Mahler’s Second Symphony with the CSO and performed in New York's Carnegie Hall and Vienna's Musikverein. Mr. Brozick holds degrees from Duquesne University, Rice University, and was a Fulbright Fellow studying in Germany.
Margie Arito (Oboe):
Margie Arito is considered one of Chicago’s most versatile and busiest oboe players. She has performed in numerous theatre pits including Les Miserable’s, Beauty and the Beast, Fiddler on the Roof, King and I, Phantom of the Opera as well as many others. Margie has been principal oboist of the DuPage Symphony Orchestra for over nineteen years. As a member of the orchestra, Margie performs regularly as featured soloist with the orchestra. As principal member of the orchestra, Margie performs many educational concerts and service concerts with the DSO woodwind quintet. As a freelance musician, she has performed in other orchestras and chamber ensembles, including the “City Lights Orchestra”, “Park Ridge Symphony”, “Downers Grove Chorale Society.” Margie is also a liturgical musician and performs on a regular basis.
The Volare Trio, Jen Gosack (Flute), Andrea Withers (Violin) and Nichole Luchs (Harp), is based in the Chicago area, combines the sweet melodies of flute, violin, and harp to create an elegant sound. Whether you are looking for musicians for a wedding ceremony or other special events, Volare Trio can provide a charming and tasteful performance for you and your guests.
Jen Gosack (flute):
Jennifer Gosack recently graduated with her master’s and artist diploma degrees in flute performance from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, where she studied with Bradley Garner and Randolph Bowman. As an undergraduate, Jennifer attended the DePaul University School of Music, where she studied with Mary Stolper. Jennifer was recently named to the music faculty at the University of St. Francis as an adjunct professor of flute performance, and she performs regularly as co-principal flutist of the Joliet Symphony Orchestra. Jennifer currently resides in Plainfield, IL, where she performs as a freelance artist and provides flute instruction to dedicated students of all ages.
Andrea Withers (violin):
Andrea Withers is an active performer and violin teacher in the Chicago area. She studied music at Lewis University, Joliet Junior College, and Grace College, leading to the completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Music Merchandising from Lewis University. Miss Withers has extensive experience performing in chamber ensembles and is a founding member of the Sveltezza Ensemble and Volare Trio. Additionally, she has performed with the Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra, serving as concertmaster for three seasons, Symphony of the Lakes, and the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra. Over the past several years, she has gained teaching experience as a violin instructor for MOSAIC Enrichment, Bristol Grove Music, Midwest Homeschool Fine Arts, and at her home studio. She recently attended the Chicago Suzuki Institute for teacher training and currently teaches group lessons with Joliet Area Suzuki Strings. In addition to being a teacher and performer, she is the music librarian for the Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra
Duo Sull'Aria is harpist Nichole Luchs and cellist Steven Sigurdson. Our goal is to create musical performances that will transport you to another place - a place where stress and worry are not welcome.
Come experience the undeniably soothing sounds that linger upon the breeze, which in Italian we say . . . sull'aria.
Steven Sigurdson (Cello):
Steven Sigurdson received his bachelor’s degree from The Juilliard School as a student of Leonard Rose and Channing Robbins. Upon graduation he was one of the first cellists selected by Michael Tilson Thomas to perform in Miami’s celebrated New World Symphony. He was then hired as Associate Principal Cellist of the Florida Philharmonic, a post he held for 13 years, finishing his tenure as the orchestra’s Principal Cellist.Upon returning to his native Chicago, Steven received his MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and he soon plans to put that degree to use in the creation of a new cooperative music academy in the Chicago area. Since the beginning of his music career, he has been a passionate advocate for young musicians, and he currently maintains a full teaching roster of young students both of the cello and the double bass. His past pupils have gone on to successful careers in both music performance and music education.Although this recording represents Steven’s first full-length solo release in the classical genre, he has been a featured cello soloist on albums by Gloria Estefan, Extreme, Zakk Wylde, and many others. Since 1996 he has been a voting member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, which presents the annual Grammy Awards. On this recording, Steven’s cello is an exquisite modern copy of a rare 1739 cello by Domenico Montagnana which was made for Steven in 1994 by celebrated maker, James Morris
